It was another night of waiting for residents, as town councillors here held another hour-long in-camera session during the middle of a council meeting.
The difference at the Sept. 3 meeting was the closed door session left a packed council chamber, including all the delegations waiting in the chamber, while councillors met in another portion of the building.
Council’s move seemed to leave a number of those in the audience unimpressed. While the need for in-camera discussions was not in question, the timing was.
The three closed door discussions came early in the meeting, right after business arising from the minutes.
Other councils within Wellington County tend to hold their closed door discussions prior to the start of council or at the end of the meeting specifically so that residents are not left waiting.
